THE COUNCIL MEETING ON 30th JAN TO DECIDE THE EUROPA APPLICATION HAS BEEN POSTPONED

Further to our newsletter sent earlier today (number 29) the Planning Inspectorate has requested the Local Planning Authority (North Yorkshire Council) not to issue a decision in respect of application ref: NY/2025/0030/ENV. This is pending the Planning Inspectorate’s consideration of a request made by interested parties to the Secretary of State to call in the application.

This result is the best we could wish for at this time and represents a huge success. It has come about as a result of our call in request to the secretary of state and other follow on call in requests from others. Well done everyone and thank you for all the hard work, the expert help and advice which has led us to this point. This could be a historic decision!

We will be writing another newsletter when we know what comes next!!

NORTH YORKS COUNCILLORS HAVE POSTPONED THE PLANNING MEETING TOMORROW

Tomorrow’s planning meeting to determine Europa Oil and Gas application to frack in Burniston has been postponed.

Thanks to Frack Free Coastal Communities submitting a letter to the Secretary of State to Call in this application and review the much flawed application, planners have postponed the meeting.

Our PROTEST LOBBY outside Scarborough Town Hall is POSTPONED.

​

Please keep hold of your placards as we will still need them!

Thanks to everyone for your fantastic support IN HELPING US DELAY THIS DECISION.
