No 14. URGENT - PARLIAMENTARY PETITION OFF TO A FLYING START - BUT WE NEED MORE
Our parliamentary petition was published on 4th July and it already has 2,716 2,750, 2832, 2875 signatories and counting. FANTASTIC effort - thank you everyone - it's great to know what people power can do. BUT we want 100,000 people to sign so that there can be a parliamentary debate to ban all onshore fracking including so called 'mini fracking'.

IT'S CONFIRMED - IT'S FRACKING!

Friends of the Earth have issued an extremely important press release today and the story has been carried by The Times.
​

​FoE sought an opinion from Kings Counsel to see if legally, PROPPANT SQUEEZE is FRACKING or not and the opinion is yes - it is!
​
No matter how many times Europa say they are not fracking - don't believe it - it is FRACKING.
People should know what they are facing, and the planning system must treat it as a fracking application.
Jenny Hartley (a steering committee member of FFCC) was quoted in the press release.“It’s deeply disturbing that we are having the wool pulled over our eyes about a fossil fuel development in our community.“There must be transparency in the decision-making process. This is fracking, pure and simple – and it should be described as such in the planning process, so local people know exactly what is being proposed.“Fracking is risky, unpopular and unnecessary. We urge the council to reject this proposal.”

UPCOMING EVENTS
AUG 22nd: Quiz night in Cloughton and Burniston Village Hall. Teams will be a minimum of 6 and maximum of 8 people at £5 per head. Each team will have a team lead. Please let us know if you wish to take part as places will be limited.
Next idea in the making: promises auction. Please let us know if you are willing to make a promise to be auctioned! This will be fun!
